How three agencies work with us.

Each summary covers the challenge, what we did, and the result — with honest numbers. Where we can't measure something precisely, we say so.

Selected work.

Three of the eighteen agencies we work with, written up honestly. The numbers are real; where we can't measure something precisely, we say so.

Pacific Ghostwriting

A high-volume ghostwriting agency publishing for Amazon KDP.

Challenge

Pacific needed to scale from 4 to 12 titles per month without losing editorial quality. Their bottleneck was editorial review — two senior editors and a queue that kept growing.

Approach

Set up a bulk intake pipeline. Our editors handled structural passes; AI-assisted analysis covered comp titles and metadata. Every manuscript still went through a human line edit before sign-off.

Result

Cycle time dropped from 14 to 9 weeks. 3 of the 12 titles in the first quarter reached the Top 10 in their KDP categories.

We were nervous about scaling. What we got wasn't automation — it was a process that let our editors spend time on the parts that need a human, and let the AI do the parts that don't.
Lena Marchetti, Director of Operations, Pacific Ghostwriting

Emerald Ghostwriting

A boutique ghostwriting shop specialising in non-fiction and business titles.

Challenge

Emerald's editors were spending too much time on developmental notes and not enough on line editing. Voice consistency across their 8 writers was also slipping.

Approach

Split the editorial pass into structural and line-level stages. Structural notes were drafted with AI-assisted analysis and reviewed by a senior editor; line edits were always human. Comp-title research moved to intake so it didn't block editing.

Result

Average editorial cycle went from 11 weeks to 7. Voice consistency across the roster improved on the same rubric we'd used before — we won't quote a precise percentage, because the rubric is qualitative.

The three-pass system wasn't a gimmick. It just enforced an order of operations we should have been following anyway. The comp-title analysis was a bonus — it saved us a day per book and the recommendations were usually right.

Brooklyn Ghostwriting

A literary-leaning ghostwriting agency focused on upmarket fiction and memoir.

Challenge

Brooklyn wanted to keep its literary sensibility while shipping more reliably. Their editors were doing three rounds of notes per manuscript and burning out.

Approach

Built a shared dashboard so authors, editors, and the agency could see the same status. Moved the first-pass developmental notes to AI-assisted analysis, with a senior editor reviewing and rewriting. KDP category and metadata research moved up front.

Result

Editorial rounds per manuscript dropped from 3 to 2. In the year since, 4 of their titles reached the Top 10 in their KDP categories — the year before, it was 1.

What we wanted was a partner who understood that 'literary' and 'commercial' aren't opposites. They didn't push us toward the algorithm — they just made our own process less exhausting.

Testimonials

What authors and agencies say.

On editorial quality
They caught a plot hole in chapter 14 that three of our beta readers missed. That's the editorial pass we pay for.
